What My Students Think I Do | SLP Edition
In continuing with our celebration of #BetterSpeechandHearingMonth I asked some of my students a few questions about who I am, what I do, and why I do it. I documented some of my favorite responses to share with my fellow SLPs and educators!
Who am I?
“Miss Macy?” - 3rd grader
Response: 🥳
“My best friend” - preschooler
Response: 🥰
“Uh, what you name?” - Kindergartener
Response: 🤦🏼♀️
What is my job?
“A firefighter” - 1st grader
Response: 🤔 “What makes you think that?” “Well you look like one” 😑
“My speech teacher” - 2nd grader
Response: 🙌🏼 “Thank goodness”
“A dentist” - 2nd grader
Response: 🧐 “Why do you think I’m a dentist?” “Because you always teach me about my teeth and tongue” (honestly, pretty accurate! A+ for creativity) 🤷🏽♀️
What do we do when you come to speech?
“Play games” - preschooler
“Play games” - Kindergartener
“Play games” - 1st grader
“Play games” - 2nd grader
“Play games” - 3rd grader
If you’re an SLP, I’m sure you resonate with these answers, but I would LOVE to hear what your students said about you!!
